Hi - I'm Rosie Jameson - welcome to my podcast Preserving for the Terrified. If you are a complete beginner anxiously looking for straightforward information you can trust, or a more experienced preserver who needs some new ideas, you won't be disappointed.
There will be a mixture of history, science, practicality - but most of all enjoyment and you will soon wonder why you thought it would be difficult. It must be the only special interest subject that doesn't require you to first order a whole lot of specialist equipment - you can start by using ordinary items found in most kitchens. You will need some jars and lids along the way but other than that you can get started straightaway.
I will give you links to my published recipes and workshops, all of which can be printed off to keep in your own files and all of my resources online are free to use.
To make it even more fun, why not learn with some friends and share the work and the spoils.
There are details of the first Workshop Preserving for Beginners - you can cook along with me and there is even a recipe download provided.
So - let's get started - I will tell you first how I came to be preservasionist and why I find it so exciting!
